Cheryl Barrett
Cheryl May is a member of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists (SWWJ). Cheryl's poetry book NOT JUST DESSERTS is published by Naked Figleaf Publishing. Six of her short stories are published in The Write Place Collection of Stories Vol 1. She is also a regular conrtibutor to The Figlet (Isle of Wight literary magazine).
A prolific writer, Cheryl writes scripts under the name Cheryl Barrett. She has over one hundred scripts published. Most are published by Lazy Bee Scripts which include pantomimes, full length and one act plays, plays for schools & youth theatre, monologues, comedy sketches and comedy murder mysteries. Her latest pantomime, 'The King's New Clothes' is published with NODA. Cheryl has a number of scripts published with Stage Scripts Ltd.
To date Cheryl's scripts have been performed in 23 countries across the world; Australia, Canada, Ecuador, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Qatar, Serbia and Montenegro, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
Along with founder Jean G-Owen, Cheryl is part of the Naked Figleaf Collective. They have performed 'Figgy Gigs' in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. Cheryl also performs her poetry at venues on the Isle of Wight.
Cheryl wrote theatre reviews and articles for Sardines Magazine for Amateur Theatre. Her books, 'The Pantomime Writers Book of Gags and Routines' and 'More Gags and Routines' by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett have proved a popular resource for pantomime writers.

Cheryl is a speaker on the IW Townswomen's Guild circuit and performs her poetry and comedy monologues.
